Advisory Board
Rockford Capital is in the process of rounding out its Advisory Board of experienced business leaders to assist in developing and guiding its investment program. The role of the Advisory Board will be to provide strategic advice regarding economic and business issues and advise Rockford as it enhances its investment and business strategies, and to help provide access to important players in the alternative investment market. Advisory Board Members Michael T. Pilson Mr. Pilson is the founder and Managing Partner of Nottingham Capital Management, a private equity investment firm focused on secondary transactions of private equity partnerships. Prior to forming Nottingham Capital, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Private Markets Group at DuPont Capital Management. The Private Markets Group manages the DuPont Pension Trust’s multi-billion dollar alternative assets portfolio, including private equity and real estate investments. The Private Markets Group also manages the Wilton Private Equity Fund and DCM Private Equity Fund II, two private equity fund-of-funds. Mr. Pilson joined DCM in 2001 and during his tenure was responsible for U.S. and European partnership and secondary investments as well as co-investments. Mr. Pilson was responsible for establishing the long-term and tactical investment strategy for the Private Markets Group and was a member of the Private Markets Group investment committee, which reviewed and approved in excess of $3.5 billion of investments during his tenure. He also served on the DuPont Capital Management Fiduciary Committee. Prior to joining DCM, Mr. Pilson was a Vice President in the Private Equity Finance group at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown where he was responsible for originating and structuring private equity funds as well as assisting in the fund–raising and negotiation activities for clients. Prior to joining Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, he was an Associate in the investment banking at Cowen & Company where he advised companies on private equity transactions. Mr. Pilson earned his B.A. in Finance from Loyola College and an M.B.A. in finance and Operations from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Jae W. Chung Mr. Chung is a private investor and a retired executive of BMC Software. At BMC, Mr. Chung was the Senior Vice President responsible for operations, information technology, and procurement. He was a member of BMC’s Executive Leadership Team, Enterprise Risk Management Committee, and Employee Benefits Committee. Prior to joining BMC, Mr. Chung was with MBNA America from 1999-2006, most recently as a Senior Executive Vice President and a member of the Management Committee, Operational Risk Committee and Customer Committee. His responsibilities included overseeing information technology and its related tasks. During his tenure with MBNA, Mr. Chung also served as the division head of U.S. Card Loan Growth, as well as of Corporate Initiatives and Resource Allocation. From 1992 to 1999, Mr. Chung was a partner with McKinsey & Company, co-leading its North American Consumer Credit, Payments, High Technology and Operations Effectiveness practices. Mr. Chung also spent eight years as a member of the technical staff with AT&T Bell Laboratories. Mr. Chung holds a Master of Science in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management with a concentration in Applied Economics and Finance; a Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University. Owen J. Rouse Jr. Mr. Rouse is a Senior Vice President and a Partner in Manekin, LLC and as the firm’s Director, Capital Markets, is responsible for the firm’s capital raising activities and investment sales and most recently headed Manekin’s Brokerage and Investment divisions. Additionally, he sits on the firm’s Management and Investment Committees and plays an active role in the strategy and direction of the Firm’s efforts. Mr. Rouse’s 29-year career in commercial real estate has covered several disciplines including lending, acquisition, disposition, construction, appraisal, portfolio management, loan workouts and various consulting assignments with a broad range of clients. Under his leadership as a director of the Firm’s brokerage operation, Mr. Rouse led 21 commercial real estate brokers in three offices – Baltimore, Columbia, and Southern Maryland – in transacting leasing business for both tenants and landlords locally, regionally and nationally. As Director of Manekin’s Investment Services practice, Mr. Rouse represents clients in the purchase and sale of commercial real estate, site selection and assemblage, and structuring transactions. His career includes approximately $750 million in overall transaction volume (acquisitions/dispositions) in all the major property types. Prior to joining Manekin in 1995, Mr. Rouse was employed by Alex. Brown Realty Advisors, which through a series of mergers now operates as Jones Lang LaSalle. During his tenure at Alex. Brown, he served as an advisor to public pension systems nationwide. His institutional advisory career includes analysis and acquisition of real estate assets, through and including responsibilities for asset management, portfolio management and disposition strategy. A former president of a local chapter of the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, Mr. Rouse will serve as the 2010 president of CORFAC International, one of world’s largest commercial real estate services organizations. Mr. Rouse has lectured at the Berman School of Real Estate at Johns Hopkins University and served on the Advisory Board for the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College and currently serves on the President’s Advisory Council for Stevenson University. He is past board president for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake and is a board member of the Saint Joseph Medical Center Foundation. A resident of Baltimore, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) and a Masters in Business Administration from the Sellinger School of Business at Loyola College in Maryland. |
