Principals
Rockford Capital Partners is managed by Doug Motley and Nick Hammonds. Mssrs. Motley and Hammonds have worked together for their entire careers in both real estate and financial services. They have a unique combination of management, strategic, and tactical experience ranging from entitlements and design to financing, lease-up, property, and asset management. Douglas A. Motley Mr. Motley brings more than 10 years of experience in real estate and corporate finance to the Company. Mr. Motley leads the underwriting, accounting and treasury, risk management, planning and analysis, capital markets, and oversees legal matters of the Company. Prior to founding Rockford, he served as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee for the Ocean Atlantic Companies. While at Ocean Atlantic, he handled all capital markets activities including securing more than $100 million of new senior debt commitments and management of more than $200 million in assets. In addition, Mr. Motley was responsible for all underwriting, risk management, and treasury functions for Ocean Atlantic. Mr. Motley played an active role in the strategic direction and operations of a development pipeline in excess of $750 million (comprised of more than 2,000 residential units and 1+ million square feet of commercial space). Prior to joining Ocean Atlantic, Mr. Motley held various management positions in corporate finance and business unit strategy as a Vice President at the largest credit card issuer in the US, MBNA America (Bank of America). Among other responsibilities, Mr. Motley directed the development and implementation of profitability optimization models and guided the deployment of a $500 million marketing budget. A native of Delaware, Mr. Motley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and is active with the Habitat for Humanity and is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Delaware Alumni Association. Nick L. Hammonds Mr. Hammonds joined Rockford as a Principal and will be responsible for acquisitions and operations of the Company and its holdings. He has more than 7 years of experience in financial services and real estate operations. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Ocean Atlantic Companies and was a member of the Executive Committee. His responsibilities at Ocean Atlantic included oversight of companywide operations, including legal, project management, leasing, property management, accounting, investor relations, and sales. Mr. Hammonds was responsible for lease negotiations, property management, operating budgets, and project management for commercial projects with total construction costs exceeding $200 million. Mr. Hammonds also managed pricing and sales strategies for residential projects totaling more than 2,000 units and $500 million in construction costs. Prior to joining the Ocean Atlantic Companies, he held management positions in Credit Acquisition, Loss Prevention, and Customer Service at MBNA America. Mr. Hammonds was responsible for mitigating losses on a multi-billion dollar portfolio of unsecured loans, and was instrumental in the development and execution of the sound underwriting strategies used in the acquisition of several hundred thousand new accounts. Nick graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a degree in Economics. |
